Begin your day traveling from Pond Mountain Inn to visit The J.J. Hapgood General Store in Peru known as the longest continuously-running general store in the state of Vermont. It was famously featured in the 1987 film Baby Boom, staring Diane Keaton and Sam Shepard.
Then, on to Weston, another quaint New England village and home to the original Vermont Country Store . A must see is the oldest working grist mill at The Mill Museum! Over the years this mill has produced lumber, spindles, shingles and more, to eventually ground flour. See a live demonstration of how this old grist mill works!
