​Look no further… this is our absolute favorite summertime place to have cocktails and dinner, and we always arrive precisely at 5:00 pm to get the best table on the veranda—the views of Lake George and the Adirondacks are beyond spectacular!

This early al fresco dinner on the deck at The Sagamore is always spectacular and was continually repeated last year! A nice breeze off the water made for a very comfortable outdoor dining experience. Make sure to ask for Calvin, our server was gracious, elegant and charmingly funny.

Many of our guests have enjoyed the same extraordinary dining experience at the Sagamore! And, I almost forgot; the lobster ravioli was probably the best I’ve ever had… This landmark hotel & resort with a prestigious history that dates back to the 1880s is secluded on a private 70-acre island just over an hour from Pond Mountain Inn. Along with an inspiring setting in the heart of the Adirondacks, the award-winning dining is alone worth the drive!

Vermont Day Trips From Pond Mountain Inn – Lake George New York

Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes, is a long, narrow oligotrophic lake located at the southeast base of the Adirondack Mountains. The lake extends about 32.2 miles on a north-south axis, has depths over 250’. Take the Sightseeing Cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement, Minne Ha Ha, or the Mohican. Their first steamship started plying the waters in 1817 and travelled to the other end of the lake in about 8 hours, today in less than 3 hours.

Lake George Scenic Drive: Thirty mile drive offering beautiful lake views and a cultural throwback to the great family motels of the 40s, 50s! Follow Route 9 north from the southernmost point of the lake to about Hague, New York.
